The
OJOS Project
Millions of children and adults in developing nations lack access to
basic
eye care services and corrective lenses.

Poor vision affects their
quality of life. For children, vision loss can lead to failure in
school, delays in development, learning disabilities and even juvenile
delinquency. For adults, uncorrected vision can lead to unemployment
and the inability to support a family. Seniors with vision loss are
limited in performing daily activities, depriving them of an
independent lifestyle.
With the creation of the OJOS Project the LINK AMERICAS Foundation is
working with doctors in the United States, providing recycled lenses
and frames to communities in Central America. The effort supports
recycling of valuable resources in the Americas to bring improved
vision and better quality of life to those in need.
The OJOS Project welcomes public donations to the project. All
contributions will be used to support the services required for
distribution of the recycled lenses. Lenses and glasses are accepted
only from participating doctors.
